PETERSEN MEDIA- Piloting both the Mason Moore Racing and Brian Cannon Motorsports entries over the weekend, Mason Moore would record a second place finish at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night in the MMR entry, before a mechanical issue on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway in the BCM No. 47 ended his feature early.

“Friday night went really well for us,” Mason Moore said. “We were really fast all night long, but we had a power steering issue in our heat and it made us go to the ‘B’. We got through, and had a great run to second in the feature.”

With 29 cars checked in for the point opener at Silver Dollar Speedway, Moore timed the Coors Light/LRB/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 22 entry in seventh quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up third in his heat race, Moore would fall back to fourth when the green lights flashed on. Racing his way into third, Moore would come up lame and take his machine back to the pit area.

Making repairs, Moore would line up on the front row of the ‘B’, and pick up the win to move into the feature event where he would get his qualifying time back and grid the field from the ninth starting spot.

With a strong car underneath him, Moore would work his way forward carefully as he quickly picked up a few spots. Enduring a couple of early stoppages, Moore would continue to work forward as soon found himself in the third spot and chasing after Tanner Thorson.

A late restart would see Moore get around Thorson and begin chasing after race leader, Andy Forsberg. Not having anything for Forsberg, Moore ended his night with a runner up finish.

Saturday night saw the Princeton, CA driver climb back aboard the Brian Cannon Motorsports entry to take part in the 2018 SCCT season opener in Placerville, CA.

Timing the Mikes Harder Lemonade/Garth Moore Insurance/FK Rod Ends backed No. 47 machine in fifth quickest in his qualifying group, Moore would line up fifth in his heat race.

Hanging on to the fifth and final transfer position, Moore would move into the feature event where he gridded the field from the 20th starting position.

Early in the race, Moore would feel fuel leaking on his leg and would wisely pull his car to a safe area to stop.

Avoiding any issue, Moore would head back to the pit area where a faulty fuel pump would be diagnosed as the issue that ended his night after just two laps in the feature event.

“I have to thank Brian and everyone for their hard work on both nights,’ Moore said. “It was great to get a nice finish in the 22 on Friday, and hopefully we can get the 47 up front next time out.”

Moore would like to thank Coors Light, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, ITC Service Group, Saureel, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.

Brian Cannon Motorsports would like to thank Mike’s Harder Lemonade, Garth Moore Insurance, FK Rod Ends, and Mountain Mikes Pizza for their support in 2018.
