HG7A3780

PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing aboard both the family owned Mason Moore Racing No. 22 and the Brian Cannon Racing No. 47 entries over the weekend, Mason Moore would finish sixth at the Tyler Wolf Memorial on Friday night before a tough night in Placerville, CA saw his night end in the semi at the Mark Forni Classic.

“It wasn’t our greatest weekend of racing, but in two big events with some really good cars bad results happen,” Mason Moore said. “It wasn’t a lack of effort, my guys worked really hard for me and I hope they know how much I appreciate it.”

Friday night in the Coors Light/LRB Race Products/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 22 machine, Moore would time in fourth fastest in time trials for the Tyler Wolf Memorial.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Princeton, CA native would finish in the third position, which would prove to be good enough to put him in the Dash. The five pill put Moore in the fifth starting position and his fifth place finish put him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

Slipping back to eighth when the race came to life, Moore would continue to run well in the Top-10 until a lap 11 incident changed the look up front. With a couple of cars getting collected, Moore would now find himself up in the sixth position. Chasing after a spot in the Top-Five during the second half of the race, Moore would take the checkered flag with a sixth place finish.

Making the trip to Placerville, CA on Saturday night, Moore would climb aboard the Brian Cannon Motorsports No. 47 machine for the Mark Forni Classic. Getting off to a bit of a slow start, Moore would time in 21st quickest in qualifying time trials and find himself in the third row of his heat race.

Netting a sixth place finish in the heat, Moore would be forced into the semi where he would chase after four transfer positions into the feature event. Battling with Ryan Bernal and Shane Hopkins late in the race, Moore would lose the fourth position and his fifth place finish would end his night.

“It was tough to not mark the feature on Saturday night,” Moore said. “I definatley feel like I let my guys down. We can’t dwell on it. We have to turn our focus to the finale in Chico, CA this weekend where we are just three points behind Andy Forsberg for the Track Championship.”

Moore would like to thank Coors Light, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, ITC Service Group, Saureel, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.
