Mechanical Issues End Justyn Cox’s Night at Marysville Raceway with Rosser Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA: Climbing aboard the Rosser Motorsports No. 23R machine on Saturday night in Marysville, CA, a late race mechanical issue caused Justyn Cox to retire from the feature event while running inside the Top-10.

“Unfortunately, something went sour on the car right before the feature event went green, and as the race progressed it got to the point where I had to pull off,” Cox said. “It made us get tighter with each and every lap and finally I had to call it a night. Thanks to the Rosser team for the opportunity to get a race in with all this that is going on.”

With 32 cars checked into the Marysville Raceway pits, Cox would time in 11th fastest in time trials, and would then entertain during his heat race. Battling hard with Jodie Robinson, the Clarksburg, CA driver would come up just short of the win, though his second place finish would transfer him into the feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 13th starting position, Cox knew something was up following the hot lap prior to the race getting started. On the rough and tumble Marysville Raceway surface, Cox would wrestle the Rosser Motorsports entry around the North State ¼ mile as he slowly worked his way into the 10th position.

As he continued to do all he could from the seat, the issues would worsen on the car, and it would finally force Cox to pull off the racing surface on the 22nd lap and bring his night to an end just three laps from the feature.

“It’s a bummer that their first night racing in a few years had to end early, but hopefully the had fun and continue to get their car to the track week in and week out,” Cox said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to drive for them, and am hopeful that C&M Motorsports and I can reunite somewhere this weekend.”

The Cox Racing team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Berry Lumber, Michael David Winery, Five Window Beer Company, MDW Sports, Cranked Naturals, PM Truck Repair, Justice Brothers, K&N, Konnected, A.R.T., Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, College Cyclery, Arai, Racing Optics, All American Powder Coating, VSR, , Tim’s Hot Rod Shop, Shell Shock, Moyle Race Engines, and Richmond Engines for their support in 2020!

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-6, Wins-1, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-4
