Mechanical Issues Plague Andy Forsberg at Keller Auto Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Making a return trip to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA for the first time in several years, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing checked in for a night of action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. Racing into the feature event through his heat race, engine issues at the start of the feature would end Forsberg’s night early.
“It kind of baffled us all,” Andy Forsberg said. “Everything ran fine in our heat race, but once we pushed off for the feature I could tell something was up. I took the green and went to work area hoping for a quick fix, and it didn’t help much so I ended up pulling off after we got lapped.”
With 42 cars checked in at Keller Auto Speedway on Saturday night, Forsberg timed the Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in third quickest in his qualifying group.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Forsberg would admittedly make a couple of mistakes on the new reshaped track and it would result in slipping back to finish fourth though it would still be good enough to transfer him into the 30-lap feature event.
Pushing out for the feature event, Forsberg could tell something was up under the hood of his Pacific Highway Rentals/Autism Awareness/FVP backed machine. Coming to a stop after the first lap, Forsberg would make a trip to the work area and let the F&F team go to work.
Able to restart, the issues wasn’t rectified and Forsberg would make a few laps until he went a lap down and elected to call it a night.
“It was just a weird deal,” Forsber said. “My guys continued to run through it after I pulled off and we still couldn’t figure it out. I know they will go to work this week and we will be just fine heading back to Placerville on Saturday night.”
F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2018.
ON TAP: Forsberg and F&F Racing return to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night where they will look to make a return trip to victory lane.
2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-12, Wins-3, Top 5’s-4, Top 10’s-9.
