PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending her weekend taking on the ASCS Red River Region, Harli White experienced mechanical issues while running in a transfer position in the B Main, that would eliminate her from competition.

“We had a pretty good car in the B Main, and looked to be on our way to the feature, but unfortunately something let go, and our night came to an early end,” White said.

With 36 cars on hand for the event at the Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls, TX, White would line her Mesilla Valley Transportation/Jerry Tucker Roustabout/Lucas Oil backed No. 17w machine up third in her heat race. With the preferred line around the top of the speedway, White could not get up there in time, and slipped back to the fourth spot, where she would finish.

With no passing points, White was forced into the second of the night’s twin B main events, where she would line her machine up on the pole with the top-three finishers moving into the feature.

From the front row, White was hard on the throttle as she jumped into the early lead, as he took a liking to the cushion, and ran right on the Red River Speedway wall. Out in command of the race, the only thing that could slow White was a caution. With the track taking a bit of rubber in the middle of the speedway, the restart saw White slip to the second spot, until she moved down to the rubber.

Taking the white flag in the second spot, White’s machine began smoking heavily. By the time she got into turns three and four, oil began spraying everywhere, and she got her car shut down, and escaped before an oil fire erupted. White we be uninjured, and safety crews would quickly extinguish the fire under the hood of her car.

“It was a bummer to come up short, and not make the feature, but in the end we had really good speed,” White said. “I have to thank my team for all of their support, and hopefully we can come back next week, and have a better night of racing.”

Harli White Racing would like to thank Mesilla Valley Transportation, Jerry Tucker Roustabout, Lucas Oil, Charlie’s Trucking, PXP Racewear, All Star Cafe, Boyd’s Racing Engines, Race Chic, Crash Enterprises, Outlaw Wings, Super Flow Testers, Simpson, Classic Seagulls UK, Eagle Motorsports, and the Shriners Hospital For Children Gavelston for their support during the 2014 season.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-8, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-0.

ON TAP: White will again be in action with the ASCS Red River Region this weekend as she takes to the Creek Country Speedway on Friday night and the Superbowl Speedway on Saturday night.
