Misfortune at I44 Riverside Speedway Sidelines Harli White
PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard her midget for the first time since the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, Harli White and her Harli White Racing team were in action with the POWRi West Series on Saturday night as they invaded the I44 Riverside Speedway.
“We had an awesome night going, and I really think we had a car capable of winning the race, but we got an early flat tire, and brought our night to an early end,” Harli White said.
With 31 cars on hand for the Blue Blast For Autism Awareness event, White would line her machine up sixth in heat race action, before she made some swift moves to get to the front. Charging to the lead, White would pick up the heat race win, and find herself atop the passing point leader board.
Earning the pole for the feature event, the Lindsay, OK driver would get out to the early lead once the race got going after a caution on the initial start. Out in front, trouble would strike White early. On the third lap, she would pull her machine into the infield with a flat right-rear tire, and her night would end with a DNF.
“The bleeder either came apart, and unfortunately we lost air pressure,” she said. “I could feel the car getting over on the right-rear, and then it finally went flat. It was disappointing for sure, but it was nice to have some great car speed, and be in the hunt.”

ON TAP: White will take a couple of weekends off from racing as she will be speaking at an event and dealing with some medical issues, but hopes to return to racing on May 15th and 16th with the ASCS Red River Region at the Lubbock Speedway and Lawton Speedway.
