Mitchell Faccinto Picks Up Pair of Second Place Finishes at Fall Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in Silver Dollar Speedway’s final event of the 2022 season, Mitchell Faccinto ran extremely well at the Fall Nationals. When the curtain dropped on the track’s season, Faccinto rolled out of the pit area with a pair of second place finishes.

“With over 60 cars in the pit area both nights, being on the podium both nights was really a good weekend,” “Mitchell Faccinto said. “We certainly would have liked to have been one spot better each night, but we have a lot of big weekends coming up to get there.”

Friday night, 67 cars checked in to open up the Fall Nationals as the race paid homage to the late Tyler Wolf. Faccinto got his night kicked off by timing the Tarlton and Son Inc./EZ Haul/Executive Auto Sales No. 21 in third fastest in his qualifying flight.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Faccinto needed to pick up the win to be Dash eligible as this night ran under Sprint Car Challenge Tour sanction. Getting the jump, Faccinto grabbed the early lead and never looked back.

Moving into the High Sierra Industries Dash, the Hanford, CA driver finishes seventh from his sixth starting position and that lined him up in the fourth row of the 35-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, Faccinto was able to work his way forward as he carefully picked his spots on the everchanging quarter mile bulling. Working up into fourth on the 11th lap, Faccinto made a big move on lap 15 to obtain the second position.

Battling with Tanner Carrick and Shane Golobic, Faccinto slipped back to third on the 17th lap.

A late restart saw Faccinto get under both Golobic and Carrick but he didn’t quite have enough drive to make the two for one attempt stick as he continued to run in third.

The last lap of the race saw Golobic and Carrick battle it out for the race win, and sitting back in third, Faccinto jumped into second and nearly stole the show at the start/finish line but ultimately came up short to Carrick.

Returning to Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night for the final event of the season at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway, Faccinto kick started his night by again timing in very well amidst a field of 66 as he ended up fastest in his qualifying group and again found himself on the front row of his heat race.

Taking advantage of the prime starting position, Faccinto raced to the win before finishing fourth in the Dash.

Moving into the 40-lap feature event, Faccinto took the green flag from the fourth position and quickly took over third as he chased after Shane Golobic and Michael Faccinto.

Moving into second just before the race’s halfway point, Faccinto would briefly slip back to third, before reclaiming second with nine markers to go.

Stalking Shane Golobic over the course of the race’s final laps, Faccinto couldn’t quite get to the race leader and capped the weekend off with his second runner up finish.

“I am looking forward to us getting back to Hanford and Tulare these next couple of weeks,” Faccinto said. “We have some fun races to run close to home and we are all excited.”
