PETERSEN MEDIA- Following the Sprint Car Challenge Tour to Tulare, CA on Friday night, Mason Moore and the F&F Racing team would have a long night that ultimately saw Moore earn Hard Charger honors as he finished in the eighth spot.

“We didn’t get out of our heat race, and with this series that makes for a pretty long night,” Mason Moore said. “Luckily, my guys really gave me a good car and we were able to move forward in both the ‘B’ and the ‘A’.”

Timing the Geico Local Office/Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes/Twisted Tea backed No. x1 machine in sixth fastest in his qualifying group, the Princeton, CA wheelman would line up in the third row of his heat race.

Finishing sixth in his heat, Moore would be relegated to the Finley Farms ‘B’ main, where he would line up in the 11th starting position.

Getting off to a great start, Moore would forge his way forward in the second spot in just three laps, as he looked to safely make his way into the Peter Murphy Classic feature event.

Falling back one spot on a late restart, Moore would hang on to finish third, and keep the F&F Racing team’s night alive.

Gridding the field from the ninth row, Moore would again work his way forward in a stout feature event. With the field using the bottom of the track in the race’s first 11 laps, Moore would get busy as the competition fanned out after the race’s first stoppage.

Able to make up ground on the Thunderbowl Raceway, Moore would cap his night off by finishing eighth and earning Hard Charger honors.

“This car has been fast all year, and it’s good to get another Top-10 with this series early in the year,” Moore said. “We will look to be even better when we get to Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night.”

Moore would like to thank Geico, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Twisted Tea, Levin’s Auto Supply, Garth Moore Insurance, LRB Race Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Sierra Single Ply, Lucas Oil, RPI, and Encore Catering for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Moore and F&F Racing travel to Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night for the fourth SCCT event of the season.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-4, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-3.
