PETERSEN MEDIA- Mason Moore made his presence felt with the ASCS National Series over the weekend in Yuma, AZ as he closed his season out with a ninth place finish after lining up in the 18th starting spot.
“Saturday night the track was really tricky, and I was able to figure out the bottom and get going,” Moore said. “Our car was really strong and to move through that field the way we did was pretty cool.”
Kicking Saturday night off with a tough draw, Moore would line up in the fourth row of his heat race and finish in the seventh spot. Moving into a qualifier, the Princeton, CA driver would again line up in the eighth spot but in this race he would move up to the fourth spot.
Not quote having enough points to move into the feature, Moore would be forced into the B Main where he would line up on the pole. Taking care of business from the front row, Moore would pick up the win and move into the 30-lap feature event.
Gridding the field from the 18th starting spot, Moore would quickly take a liking to the bottom of the speedway as most drivers were up on the cushion. Able to make the bottom work, Moore would be one of the few who was able to make up ground on this night.
Carving his way through a very stout field, Moore would bring his 2016 season to close with a charge up to the ninth spot.
Also in action with the ASCS National Series on Friday night, Moore would finish second in his heat race, before picking up a second place finish during his qualifier.
Sitting 10th in points, Moore would move into the 25-lap preliminary night feature event where he would take the green flag from the 10th starting position. On a very racy Cocopah Speedway, Moore showed that the F&F Racing machine was strong on this night as he quickly worked up to the seventh spot and began battling with Aaron Reutzel.
As the duo battled back and forth, Moore would loop his machine while trying to counter a move but was able to keep it under power. Able to reel the field back in, Moore would get back up to finish in the 12th spot.
“I can’t say enough about this F&F Racing team,” Moore said. “We were fast everywhere we went, and had a really nice showing in a National show to close out our year. We had some great partners support us this year, and hopefully we can have a good offseason and come out even better in 2017.”
Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, ITC Service Group, Saureel, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.
