Moore Fights For Seventh During Trophy Cup B Main
PETERSEN MEDIA- Admittedly having a frustrating Trophy Cup, Mason Moore turned in a strong performance on Saturday night that saw him work his way up from his 16th starting position to finish in the seventh spot during the stout 25-lap B Main event.
“It was a frustrating weekend, but I was pretty happy with how we went on Saturday night,” Mason Moore said. “We struggled during the day show on Friday, and then had some bad luck Friday night. It was definitely now how I thought it would go.”
Coming into the Saturday night program sitting 42nd in points, Moore lined his Coors Light/ITC Service Group/LRB Race Products up on the front row of his qualifier. Getting the jump, Moore was able to pick up the win, and sneak into the B Main event where he lined up in the eighth row.
A multi car wreck would happen right in front of Moore, but the Princeton, CA driver was able to avoid the carnage and continue on. On the racy Thunderbowl Raceway, Moore was able to get moving forward as he worked inside the Top-10.
Racing with Colby Copeland late in the race, Moore would get into the seventh spot as he looked for a couple of more positions to get into the feature event. A pair of late race restarts made things interesting, but Moore would close his night out with a seventh place finish in the B main.
“I really just want to thank everyone who supported me all weekend long, and helped out,” Moore said. “I came into the weekend looking to run well like we did a year ago, but it is a tough show and it did not work out.”
