Moore Pockets Two Top-10’s

PETERSEN MEDIA- After engine issues sidelined him during Wednesday night’s World of Outlaws event in Placerville, CA, Mason Moore had a nice showing over the weekend in 360ci action as he picked up a fifth place finish on Friday night with the Civil War Series before fighting back to finish eighth on Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway.

“It was a decent weekend overall for both teams,” Moore said. “Friday night we timed in well enough for the front row of our heat, but a questionable call moved us back and we had to come from mid pack in the feature. Saturday we had some good speed again and fought back to another Top-10 after an early wreck.”

Taking on the Civil War Series on Friday night aboard the F&F Racing No. x1 machine, Moore would time the Econo Lube and Tune/Geico Local Office entry in 12th fastest.

Slated to start on the front row of his heat, Moore would be penalized a row for what officials called a false start. Finishing third in the heat, Moore would miss out on the Dash, but was still in the feature event as he lined up in the sixth row for the 30-lap affair.

On a very racy Silver Dollar Speedway, the Princeton, CA driver was able to work his way forward as he quickly jumped into the Top-10. Using some early restarts to his advantage, Moore was quickly up into the Top five by the seventh lap as he battled with Justin Sanders and Bryan Clauson.

Able to battle with a charging Andy Forsberg late in the race, Moore would do a very nice job on Friday night as he kicked off the 2016 campaign with a fifth place finish.

Climbing aboard the Mason Moore Racing No. 22 entry for a night of racing on Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway, Moore would go out late for time trials on an extremely slick track, but was still able to turn in the fourth fastest lap of the night.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Moore had a great start and would grab the lead coming out of turn four as the field completed the first lap.

Going on to pick up the win, Moore would grid the field from the second row for the 25-lap A Main event. Getting off to a rough start when the race went green, Moore went to make up some ground getting into turn three, but admittedly made a mistake that saw his machine spin out and receive some damage.

Aboard a battered entry, Moore was patient from the back of the pack as he worked his way forward. Taking advantage of some others misfortune, Moore was able to claw his way back inside the Top-10 and finish eighth.

“I hate to tear up equipment, but have to thank my guys for all of their hard work,” Moore said. “We have had a couple of nice runs in the 360ci entry this year, and hopefully we can get going the right way in the 410ci soon. It is good to be racing again, and hopefully I can continue to get in racing shape and be up front contending for wins soon.”

Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.

ON TAP: Moore will be in Chico, CA on Friday night and then head to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.
