PETERSEN MEDIA- One week after seeing a very good night go south at the Placerville Speedway, Mason Moore and his F&F Racing team would bounce back with two Top-10 finishes over a busy holiday weekend.
“We have been really good at Placerville all year long, and it was good to come back and have two good races after a tough one last weekend,” Mason Moore said. “We battled in the Top-Five both nights, and just missed out on two Top-Five finishes.”
An extremely slick Placerville Speedway greeted drivers on Saturday night, and Moore would find a little speed on the slick surface early as he timed the Geico Local Office/Econo Lube and Tune/LRB Race Products No. x1 machine in fourth fastest.
Picking up a third place finish in his heat race, Moore would run in the Top-Five for much of the race on an extremely slick Placerville Speedway surface. Battling with the likes of Michael Kofoid and Greg Decaires for much of the race, the Placerville Speedway point leader looked to be solidly in the top-five.
Falling out of the Top-Five late in the program, Moore would sneak by Chase Johnson late to finish in the fifth spot.
Returning to action on Monday night, Moore would time in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials before again finishing third in his heat race.
Moore would advance into the Top-Eight redraw where the four pill would line him up in the second row of the 25-lap A Main event. On a surface that held moisture for much of the night, Moore would get up as high as the third spot during the course of the night, but a few restarts would hamper him as the night went on.
Trying to maintain his position inside the Top-Five a late move by Ryan Bernal would see Moore take the checkered flag with a sixth place finish.
“This team has been awesome night it and night out, and I am glad to be a part of it,” Moore added. “We have been extremely consistent, and hopefully we can continue that this weekend.”
Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, ITC Service Group, Saureel, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.
ON TAP: Moore will be in action on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway in the Mason Moore Racing No. 22 entry, before returning to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night with the F&F Racing team.
