Moore Third Again at Silver Dollar Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Amidst an extremely tight championship battle at Silver Dollar Speedway, Mason Moore kept pace with Andy Forsberg on Friday night as a late race move netted him a third place finish before rallying to finish seventh on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.

“It was a good weekend,” Mason Moore said. “We had a really good run on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway, and Saturday at Placerville we got collected in a huge pile up on the eighth lap and went to the back and battled back to finish seventh.”

Friday night at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway, Moore timed the Mike’s Harder Lemonade/Garth Moore Insurance/Care Free Pools entry in sixth quickest in qualifying time trials which in part put him on the front row of  his heat race.

Taking advantage of the preferred starting position, Moore would race his way to the win which would be pivotal as it made him eligible for the nightly redraw where the five pill put him in row three for the 25-lap finale.

When the green lights flashed on, Moore would find himself in a torrid battle for the fourth position as he spent 24 laps in a three car battle for the spot getting as high as fourth and dropping as far back as sixth.

The fast paced action would take a hiatus with just one lap left in the race and Moore would take full advantage of the restart as he jumped into third where he would go on to finish as he would keep pace in the point battle.

Loading up and heading to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Moore would check in at the high-banked facility where he timed the BCM/MMR entry in sixth quickest in time trials.

With 24 cars in the pit area on this night, Moore would line up in the second row of his heat race where a third place finish would leave him needing some help to get into the redraw. Having no such luck, the Princeton, CA pilot would grid the field from the fifth row for the 25-lap feature.

On a racy Placerville Speedway surface, Moore made some early moves and found himself up in sixth when the caution flag waived on the eighth lap. The ensuing restart would be chaotic as an accordion affect would cause a huge pile up and Moore would get in on the action and be forced to the work area.

Able to make quick repairs to his entry, Moore would tag the back of the field for the final 17 laps. Able to continue to make some moves when the action resumed, Moore would surge back into the Top-10 and close his night out with a seventh place finish.

“Saturday was unfortunate because I think we showed we had a pretty good car,” Moore said. “I would have liked to have seen how our night would have gone had we stayed up front all race long, but sometimes things happen on the dirt. Thanks to Brian Cannon and all my guys for their hard work, and all of our partners for their continued support.”

Brian Cannon Motorsports would like to thank Mike’s Harder Lemonade, Garth Moore Insurance, Care Free Pools, FK Rod Ends, and Mountain Mikes Pizza for their support in 2018.
