Netto Charges With the Outlaws in Hanford, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA: Racing with both the World of Outlaws and the Sprint Car Challenge Tour over the weekend, DJ Netto would show good speed but unfortunately the results did not follow suit.

“I just pushed it too hard and need to tell my self to relax,” DJ Netto said. “We have a good car, but after a couple of bad nights I got back into some old bad habits that I need to shake again.”

Following a tough night at Placerville Speedway that saw him charge from the back of the C to transfer to the B, and nearly do the same to transfer to the feature, Netto and this Tri-C Motorsports team traveled with the World of Outlaws to him home track of Keller Auto Speedway.

Timing the Tri-C Machine/Netto Ag/Van De Pol backed No. 3c machine in 15th fastest, Netto would get into the cushion to hard and fly the front end into the wall and bring his race to an end, and make his way into the Last Chance Showdown.

Transferring out of the ‘B’ with a second place finish, the Hanford, CA pilot gridded the field from the 11th row for the 35-lap “A” main event. On the extremely slick racing surface, Netto had his elbows up as he had a bad fat sprinter under him.

Methodically working his way through the field, Netto would find himself up in the sixth spot late in the race before a front end issue would force him to the pits and end his very impressive run.

Bolting the 360ci power-plant into his machine, Netto and the Tri-C Motorsports team traveled to Antioch, CA to take part in the first ever Sprint Car Challenge Tour event.

Qualifying in hot lap groupings that made up their heat race on Saturday night, Netto would be second fastest in his group and in the second row of his heat race.

Picking up a third place finish, Netto would move on into the one of the twin dashes where his fourth place finish in Dash No. 1 placed him inside the fourth row of the 30-lap ‘A’ Main.

The start of the race would see Netto all but fully spin his machine out and he was able to save it and keep it under power. Loosing several spots and slipping back on the tricky surface, Netto admittedly got a little impatient.

Trying to work his way through the field, Netto would get into a fellow competitor on the 15th lap, and bring his night to an end.

“I just needed to relax on Saturday night and be more patient,” Netto said. “I feel like I let my team down. We will bounce back and come back strong again this weekend, I know that.”

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-11, Wins-1, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-3
