PETERSEN MEDIA: Making a splash during his first weekend of action aboard the famed Tri-C Motorsports No. 3c, DJ Netto would finish third on Friday night in Chico, CA before tallying a fifth place finish on Saturday night with the King of the West Series in Petaluma, CA.

“It was a great way to start this new deal,” DJ Netto said. “I was extremely happy with how things felt, and to come out and pick up a pair of Top-Five finishes out of the box is awesome.”

Heading to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Netto would time the Tri-C Machine/Walker Performance Filtration/All American Powder Coating No. 3c in eighth fastest before picking up a win during his heat race.

With lady luck on his side, the Hanford, CA driver would pull the ‘one’ pill in the redraw and put himself on the pole for the 25-lap feature event. Getting called for a jump on the initial start, Netto would be sent back a row before being involved on a tangle the next lap.

Able to make repairs, Netto would restart from the tail end of the field and show his speed on the racy ¼ mile. Working his way forward, Netto would get back up to finish in the third spot when the checkered flag was shown to the field.

Traveling to the Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night to battle with the King of the West Series, Netto would time the Tric-C Machine entry in 10th quickest.

Taking care of business from the front row of his heat, Netto would again pick up the win and earn a berth into the nightly Dash where a seventh place finish slotted him in the fourth row for the 30-lapper.

From the seventh starting position, Netto would slowly pick up a few positions on a surface that was tough to pass on at times. Using a late restart to his advantage, Netto would move into the fifth spot.

During the final lap, the Hanford, CA driver would make a daring move as he looked for the third spot, but his bid would come up short and he would cross the stripe in the fifth spot.

“I really have to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for this opportunity, and these guys for giving me a good car out of the gate,” Netto said. “It was a good start and I am extremely excited for Gold Cup.”

ON TAP: Netto will be back in action for the upcoming Gold Cup Race of Champions taking place in Chico, CA that will kick off on September 7th.
