Netto Puts On Charge To Third Friday Night

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA on Friday night, DJ Netto thrilled his hometown crowd as he charged his way forward from his 12th starting spot, to grab his first podium finish of the season as he finished in the third spot.

“We did not time in well, but we raced really well the rest of the night, and had a great finish, which we really needed,” DJ Netto said.

With 25 cars on hand for the first King of Kings Series race of the 2015 season, Netto timed his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts No. 88n machine in 14th fastest during qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the second heat race of the night, Netto would battle with good friend, Carson Macedo, as he would finish in the second position, and move into the feature event, as he ultimately lined up in the 12th position for the 30-lap feature event.

On the extremely slick, but racy surface, Netto had his elbows up, as he worked his way around the Kings Speedway clawing his way towards the top-five.

A pair of red flags after the halfway point played into Netto’s favor, as he was great on his restarts, and was able to surge into the Top-Five, as he set his sights on Macedo, and Craig Stidham, as he continued to look for position.

Getting by Stidham, Netto would then hook up in a very exciting battle with Macedo for the third spot in the closing laps, as the two rising stars exchanged the final podium position lap after lap.

When the dust settled on the event, it was Netto holding on to the third position, after a very hard fought charge from the middle of the pack.

“It has been a rough start to our season, so this was a welcomed night of racing,” Netto said. “I really just have to thank everyone that helps us out, and works on this thing.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, King Racing Products, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2015.

ON TAP: Netto will return to the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA on Friday night before taking part in the Bradway Memorial in Chico, CA on Saturday night.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-17, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-1
