PETERSEN MEDIA: With more weather hammering the Midwest, Paul Nienhiser again found himself frantically changing plans all weekend long before finally finding sun in Wilmot, WI as battled with the IRA and came home with a fourth place finish.

“We changed plans a few times before settling in on Wilmot Raceway, and I’m glad we did because we got to work on some stuff that we had been struggling with, and it worked out for us,” Nienhiser said.

With a couple of starts at the track in years past, Nienhiser entered the night with some confidence as he would go out late in time trials and still turn in a good time as he ended up 12th fastest aboard the CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil/Mason Sound/Innovative Design machine.

Lining up on the pole of his heat race, the Chapin, IL chauffer would need to grab the win to make the redraw. Giving the leader everything he had early in the race, Nienhiser would simply get beat as he settled for second, which was still good enough to put him in the feature event.

Finding himself in the 12th starting spot on a track that was slick and had no real cushion built up, Nienhiser decided to make some radical changes to his setup as the track conditions were the type that have been hounding him as of late.

Working to his liking, Nienhiser had a rocket underneath him as he could put his machine anywhere on the speedway and make grip as he worked his way to the front.

Battling with Rico Abreu for much of the race, Nienhiser would race into the Top-Five, as he sat in third on a late restart. Feeling his car going away just before the yellow, Nienhiser would get his elbows up on the restart as he was well in the hunt.

Going back to green, Ninehiser still wasn’t as strong as he was early in the race, and would allow Abreu to get by him as he capped his night off with a fourth place finish.

“It was a pretty good night, and I am happy with what we learned,” Nienhiser added. “With all of this rain, I am just happy we were able to get a race in. Thanks to everyone who supports our team and helps us out.”

Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil, Mason Sound, Innovative Design, Bradshaw Custom Pumping, Wessler Bros. Agency, Bob Hawks Auto Body, Littleton Storm & Timber, Fierce Herbicide, Sunstoppers Window Tinting, Engler Machine and Tool, FK Indy, Rider Racing Engines, Kaeding Performance, Smith Titanium Products, Vortex Wings, Signature Signs and Design, and Team Simpson for their continued support.
