Nienhiser Wins Jacksonville Speedway Opener with KO Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in the regular season opening event at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday night, Paul Nienhiser took full advantage of racing in front of friends and family as he picked up his first win of the year aboard the KO Motorsports No. 5n.

“I really have to send a huge thanks to the KO Motorsports team for towing all the way out the Jacksonville on Friday night just to turn around and get back to Indiana to race on Saturday,” Nienhiser said. “It was really special to run in front of my home crowd, and to grab a win just makes it that much sweeter.”

Drawing the outside pole for his heat race aboard the CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil/Roadworks/Peterbilt No. 5n machine, Nienhiser would struggle to find grip but was still able to race his way to the heat race win.

Finding himself on the pole for the feature event, Nienhiser would return to form at his home track. Getting a great jump, the Chapin, IL driver would quickly find the rear of the field and begin the lapping process.

Able to keep the field at bay, Nienhiser would go on to pick up the very popular feature event win.

Saturday night the scene shifted to Haubstadt, IN, a track where Nienhiser can’t quite seem to master. Timing in sixth fastest in his qualifying group, Nienhiser would pick up a seventh-place finish in his heat race.

With the KO Motorsports trying all they could to get him more comfortable for the feature event. Starting at the rear of the field, Nienhiser was to a point where he could make better corners, but he would struggle to find grip.

Though it wasn’t for a lack of effort, Nienhiser would cap his night off with a 14th place finish.

“Though Saturday was kind of a lackluster showing, I still really appreciate this team trying all they can to get me better at a track where my teammates are going really well at,” Nienhiser said. “I also want to thank everyone who stopped by and grabbed some merch on Friday night, it was a cool night all around.”

Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil, Roadworks, Peterbilt, Mason Sound, Innovative Design, Bradshaw Custom Pumping, Wessler Bros. Agency, Bob Hawks Auto Body, Fierce Herbicide, Sunstoppers Window Tinting, Engler Machine and Tool, FK Indy, Rider Racing Engines, Kaeding Performance, Smith Titanium Products, Vortex Wings, Signature Signs and Design, and Team Simpson for their continued support.

2021 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-16, Wins-1, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-7

ON TAP: Nienhiser will meet up with USAC this Friday and Saturday night as the series heads to Lakeside, KS.
