PETERSEN MEDIA: Kyle Offill had a good weekend that saw him finish 10th on Friday night at Ocean Speedway and 14th at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night after being involved in an early incident.

“We ran hard both nights, and it just felt good to be back at the track again,” Kyle Offill said.

Friday night, Team KO Racing checked in at Ocean Speedway to battle the Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo. Timing the Ochoco West/Boise Cascade/Reliable Lumber backed No. 2K entry in ninth fastest, the Tracy, CA driver would take advantage of a front row starting position in his heat race and snag the win.

By way of the heat victory, Offill would punch his ticket into the Dash, where a seventh place finish placed the Maas Brothers Powder Coating/TMac Motorsports/Offill Family Farms machine in the fourth row for the 30-lap feature event.

Taking the green flag from seventh, Offill would run strong in the Top-10 from the get-go. Battling hard with some of the best that race at the Watsonville, CA facility, Offill would avoid some near incidents and take home a 10th place finish.

Traveling to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for another night of action, Offill would go out right in the middle of the qualifying session and end up 22nd fastest overall.

Mired in the back of his heat race, the Rookie winged 360ci driver would have a nice run that saw him work his way to fourth and earn the direct transfer into the 25-lap ‘A’ Main event.

Lining up in the 17th starting position, Offill would begin to work his way forward as he approached the Top-10. On the race’s fourth lap, a car would get out of shape just in front of him and making contact Offill’s entry would endure a little bit of damage.

Though it wasn’t enough to knock him out of the race, it was enough to change the handling of his machine. Doing the best he could with an ill handling machine, Offill was able to hang on and secure a 14th place finish at the finish line.

“We were making a strong run early on Saturday but unfortunately we clipped a stalled car and broke the Jacobs Ladder,” Offill noted. “It made the car pretty tough to drive, but we still were able to finish 14th.”

Team KO Racing would like to thank Ochoco West, Boise Cascade, Reliable Lumber, Maas Brothers Powder Coating, TMAC Motorsports, Offill Family Farms, Golden State Lumber, Inc., California TrusFrame, Lord & Sons, Inc., B&S Hacienda Auto Body, Country Builders Construction, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, HRP, Taco Bravo,  and Bacchetti Hay Service for their support this year.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 21, Wins: 2, Top 5’s: 2, Top 10’s: 6

ON TAP: Ofill will follow the Sprint Car Challenge Tour to Fernley, NV on Saturday night.
