Offill Kicks 2020 Off with Third Place Run at Stockton Dirt Track

PETERSEN MEDIA: Kicking his 2020 campaign off on Saturday night, Kyle Offill and his Kyle Offill Racing crew checked into Stockton Dirt Track for an early season shakedown and came away with a third-place finish.
“Saturday night we really got a lot accomplished,” Kyle Offill said. “We made sure everything was running right, and we played with some other little things on our car.”
Running a duel heat race format, Offill’s first heat saw him line the Country Builders/Ochoco West/Brown and Miller backed entry up on the pole alongside veteran standout, Tim Kaeding.
With Kaeding getting the jump, Offill would settle into second as he flanked the race leader. Hanging on to finish second, the Tracy, CA driver backed that result up with a fifth place finish in his second heat after early nose wind damage.
Finding himself fourth in points, Offill lined the Maas Bros./Reliable Lumber/Boise Cascade machine up in the second row of the 20-lap feature event. With the track still very heavy and fast, Offill would occupy the fourth spot as the race came to life.
Continuing to chase after third running Justyn Cox, the caution would fly on the 13th lap for the race leader. Bunching the field back up with just seven laps to go, Offill would restart from the third position.
In clean track, the leaders would all take off and create a couple car lengths between themselves. As this happened, Offill would never get close to Cox to challenge for the second position, but still capped his 2020 opener on the podium with a third place finish.
“I felt like we were a little too tight in our heat races, but we kept working on it and got our car a lot better in the feature,” Offill added. “I really feel like my family put together a great team with Dillon Paddock, Colby Rennert, and Craig Smith and we are all really excited for the season to come.”
Kyle Offill would like to thank Country Builders, Ochoco West, Brown and Miller, Maas Bros., Reliable Lumber, Boise Cascade, Offill Family Farms, FK Rod Ends, HRP, FK Shocks, Arai America Helmets, Hinchman Racewear, Maxim Chassis, and B. Scadden Design for their continued support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 1, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 1, Top 10’s: 1
ON TAP: Offill will return to action when the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour comes to town on March 6th in Merced, CA, and March 7th in Placerville, CA.
