PETERSEN MEDIA: Once the Turkey and fixings were packed up and put away, over 120 Karts made their way to ‘The Barn’ in Chowchilla, CA to take part in the Sanders Motorsports Thanksgiving Kart Nationals.
Following a Black Friday test and tune session, the action got underway Saturday night for preliminary action where 127 Karts spread out amongst eight divisions checked in for action.
Saturday night feature event winners included Chase Johnson in the 500 Winged Division, Tyler Ritcheson in the Clone Division, Koa Crane in the 250 Winged Division, Richie Goulart in the Stock Appearing Division, Chance Grasty in the Box Stock Division, Mason Morton in the Beginner Box Stock division, Connor Crews in the Jr Flat Division, and Phil Goulart in the Pure Stock Division.
Following a fun night of post race activities, the ante was upped during Sunday’s finale where 108 Karts returned over seven divisions.
In Stock Appearing action it was Christian Hickman taking home the big win over Kyle Labrie and Richie Goulart rounding out the podium.
After post race tech was complete following the Clone feature, Buddy Shelton scored the win over Derrick Wallace and Thomas Hiser.
Chance Grasty won a close Box Stock feature event over Aiden Larimer and Kennzzie Brown, while Carson Stephens won the Beginner Box Stock feature over Kinser Bell and Logan Reeves.
Jonathan Pugh took home top honors with the Junior Flat’s over Alisabeth Porter and Brayden Morton, while Isaiah Vasquez won the 250 feature over Koa Crane and Walter Johnson.
In the 500 division, Chase Jonson would cap off the weekend sweep as he won over Jake Park and younger brother, Colby Johnson. Johnson’s big weekend that included two feature event wins and a pole shuffle win, he would take home over $1500 thanks in part to the many event sponsors that took part in the event.
