Parker Price-Miller Kicks Winter Season Off With Eighth Place Finish in DuQuoin, IL

PETERSEN MEDIA- After some time away from racing to regroup and rebuild for 2018, Parker Price-Miller kicked off his busy Winter on Saturday night in DuQuoin, IL as he picked up an eighth place finish during the annual Junior Knepper 55.

“It felt good to get back in the midget after being away so long, and having good speed right out of the box,” Parker Price-Miller said. “I think we learned some things that will help us for Chili Bowl in a couple of weeks, so overall a really nice start to the Winter.”

Lining up third in his heat race, Price-Miller showed he had a very strong Valvoline/Chalk Stix backed No. 9P. Chasing down teammate, Dillon Welch, PPM was able to sneak underneath him and pick up the win and move into a qualifier.

Sitting fifth in points following heat race action, the Kokomo, IN pilot lined up fifth in his qualifier where he would look to add to his point total and improve on his feature event starting position.

Unable to make much happen, Price-Miller would finish fifth which dropped him to 12th in event points and lined him up in the sixth row of the 55-lap feature event.

When the green flag was displayed to the field, a pile up occurred in front of PPM and with nowhere to go the youngster would get in on the action and find himself at the back of the pack.

Though mired deep in traffic, Price-Miller was able to work his way back forward on the very racy Southern Illinois Center surface. Carving his way back forward, Price-Miller would find himself back inside the Top-Five in the races closing laps.

Looking secure a Top-Five against some of the best Midget drivers in the world, Price-Miller would admittedly make a mistake which cost him a few spots as he would take the checkered flag in the eighth position.

“We had a really good car, and I think that showed by us racing from the back like we did,” PPM noted. “I made a mistake late that cost us a little, but to battle back and get a Top-10 was a good and something to build on heading to Chili Bowl in January.”

Price-Miller and his team would like to thank 360 Yield, Dupont, Pioneer, FlyingAG, Agee Farms, Encirca, Chalk Stix, Bell Helmets, and PPM Titanium for their support.

ON TAP: PPM will now head to Australia, as he begins to race ‘Down Under’ on December 26th.
