PETERSEN MEDIA- Kicking his 2016 season with of Agee Motorsports off last weekend with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in Texas, Parker Price-Miller looks to build momentum for the season ahead as he and his team take on the GoMuddy NSL 360’s on Saturday night at 81 Speedway.
“We had really good speed last week at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, we just had some bad luck in lapped traffic,” Price-Miller explained. “Saturday night at Devil’s Bowl was a little bit of a struggle, but that is a tricky place and I was pleased with the progress we made.”
At the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, Price Miller would race his FlyingAG/Royal Life Centers/360 Yield Center No. 2 machine to a second place finish in his heat race, which would ultimately put him on the front row of the feature event.
A slow start saw the Kokomo, IN driver slip back to the fourth spot, but he quickly showed what he had as he raced his way back into second and chased after the race leader, Johnny Herrera.
Thick traffic allowed Price-Miller to pull even with Herrera but traffic made it tough to make any pass attempts work. A yellow would put two lapped cars in between Herrera and Price-Miller and as the slower cars raced with PPM as he tried to clear them contact would ultimately ensue and knock ‘The Law Firm’ out of a potential podium finish.
“I think we had a car that was good enough to win, and definitely run second but it just didn’t work out for us,” Price-Miller added.
Following Friday’s rain out at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway a locked down surface in heat race action would see Price-Miller start fourth in his heat race and finish in the fifth spot.
With the track widening out during qualifiers, Price-Miller was able to make up some ground aboard his Pfister/Encirca/Valvoline entry as he worked his way from eighth to fifth.
Starting the B Main on the front row, Price-Miller fell back to the third spot and would feel pressure from fourth running Logan Forler for the final transfer spot. Making a slight mistake trying to pass for second, PPM would fall back to fourth with just a few laps remaining.
The final laps, Price-Miller’s machine would start to shake as fuel ran low and his fourth place effort would keep him from the feature event.
“We had a pretty good car at Devil’s Bowl as the night went on,” Price-Miller said. “The B Main some cautions flew when I was getting in a rhythm, and I made a mistake and fell to fourth. I am really pleased with how our first weekend of racing together went and am looking forward to Saturday.”
Price-Miller and his team would like to thank FlyingAG, Royal Life Centers, 360 Yield Center, Pfister, Encirca, Valvoline, Townline Variety, Indy Race Parts, and Agee Farms for their support in 2016
