PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the call to pilot the F&F Racing No. x1 during the 26thAnnual Trophy Cup, a plugged nozzle on Saturday night would relegate the California native to a 22ndplace in the Trophy Cup standings.

“I am so thankful the F&F Racing guys thought of me and brought me out for the Trophy Cup,” Paul McMahan said. “We had an absolute blast, and some really good speed but some bad luck altered our finish on Saturday night.”

A strong Thursday night show, saw McMahan time the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA machine in 10thfastest in time trials as he would then run second in his heat race.

Missing out on the transfer to the feature directly, McMahan would make a stop in the semi where would finish third and move into the feature.

Starting on the front row with the points invert, McMahan would get off to a great start as he paced the star studded field early. Being just a little too good to early, McMahan would get passed by Kyle Hirst just after the race’s halfway point.

Slipping back a few more positions, McMahan’s sixth place finish would see him sit eighth in points, the total he would take into Saturday’s action where he officially was 11thheading into heat races.

Running sixth in his Saturday night heat, McMahan would still sit 11thin points heading into the 50-lap feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 10thstarting position, McMahan would have an engine issue lead to contact giving him a flat tire on the first lap as he brought out the caution.

Able to return to the rear of the field, McMahan would still feel something off under the hood of his machine and made the decision to shut it down and call it a night.

“The last thing I wanted to do was hurt their engine, and luckily it looks like there was an issue with a nozzle line that created the issue,” McMahan said. “A bummer way to end a fun weekend, but I had a blast with the guys and really appreciate the opportunity.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2019.
