PETERSEN MEDIA: For the second consecutive year, Paul McMahan and Destiny Motorsports teamed up for the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, OK. Though the weekend didn’t go as planned for McMahan, the Nashville, TN driver was thankful for the opportunity.

“The weekend definitely wasn’t what we had hoped for, but we still had some fun getting in a midget, and hopefully we can get this thing out more this year,” Paul McMahan said. “We had some great people step up and support us for the Chili Bowl, and I truly have to thank them for everything.”

Lining up seventh in his heat race on Wednesday night, McMahan would pass some cars and earn valuable points early, as he was able to finish in fourth and earn enough to move into an all important qualifier.

Just missing out on a qualifier inversion, the Nashville, TN resident would line the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply/DKW Transport backed No. 4p machine up in the fourth row, where he would go on to finish sixth.

Finding himself in one of the twin ‘B Main’ events, McMahan would run into a little trouble which relegated him to a ninth place finish which brought his prelim night to an end.

Deep in Saturday’s alphabet soup, McMahan would open the finale up in the third row of the ‘F’ Main. Working into the third position, where he would finish, McMahan lived to see another main as he moved into the ‘E’ Main.

Lining up 15th in the ‘E’, McMahan would need to get his elbows up as just four cars would move into the ‘D’. When the race came to life, McMahan would pick up a few positions early, but as the field got strung out he find himself in 11th when the checkered flag was displayed, ending his Chili Bowl.

“It was a little disappointing, but I have to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for letting me come out and have some fun,” McMahan added. “Aside from all of our great partners, I also have to thank DKW Transport, Indy Race Parts, Apex Structures, Steve Soares, and Betsy Motorsports for the added support. I also have to thank the guys for all of their hard work.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Townline Variety, Agee Farms, Champion Brand Lubricants, All Star Performance, KSE Racing Products, CSI Race Shocks, HRP, Triple X, PPM Titanium, Chalk Stix, Wilwood, Keizer Wheels, Simpson, Petersen Media, My Race Pass, Speedway Engines, FK Rod Ends, Boss Signs and Graphics, Classic Ink, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, C&H Veteran Enterprises, Hoosier Tires North, and BulterBuilt for their continued support.
