PETERSEN MEDIA: Paul McMahan was pretty happy with how his weekend went with the Destiny Motorsports team. Going forward during both feature events over the weekend, McMahan and company would record a pair of Top-10 finishes as they ready for a three-race week.

“It was a nice week for our team,” McMahan said. “Last week we had a good car at Granite City and went from 17th to 11th, and fortunately we were able to follow that up with two good nights on Friday and Saturday.”

Gridding the field from the 17th starting position on Tuesday night in Saux Rapids, MN, McMahan would do a nice job of moving forward from the ninth row. Getting off to ax extremely nice start, the Nashville, TN resident would move forward in a hurry as he forged his way toward the Top-10.

Battling with Joey Saldana and Daryn Pittman late in the race, McMahan would end up taking the checkered flag with an 11th place finish.

Heading to West Liberty Raceway with the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt’ Friday night, McMahan would time the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Champion Brand Lubricants No. 4 machine in 13th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Going from fifth to fourth in his heat race, McMahan would advance to the feature event where he would take the green flag from the 10th starting position. On the big Iowa ½ mile, McMahan would jump into the ninth spot early as he battled with Brent Marks and David Gravel.

Turning in some nice laps, McMahan and company would take the checkered flag in the ninth spot.

Traveling to Beaver Dam Speedway on Saturday night, McMahan and company would continue to head the right direction.

Timing the All Star Performance/KSE Racing Products/FK Indy backed entry in eighth quickest during his qualifying flight, McMahan lined up in the second row of his heat race. Picking up a third place finish, he would put the HRP/PPM Titanium/Chalk Stix entry in the sixth row for the 40-lap feature event.

On a very fast and tricky race track, McMahan would do a nice job of working his way forward and staying out of trouble in what turned into a wild feature event.

Staying the course, McMahan would close his weekend out with back-to-back Top-10’s as he finished in the eighth spot.

“Momentum is huge in this sport, and to finish well during a busy stretch goes a long way,” McMahan added. “It’s big for me, it’s big for the guys, and hopefully we can continue and build off of these good runs this weekend.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Champion Brand Lubricants, All Star Performance, KSE Racing Products, FK Indy, HRP, KPC, PPM Titanium, Chalk Stix, Wilwood, Kieizer Wheels, Simpson, Petersen Media, My Race Pass, Speedway Engines, FK Rod Ends, Boss Signs and Graphics, Classic Ink, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Hoosier Tires North, and BulterBuilt for their continued support.
