Paul Nienhiser Third at Brownstown Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Climbing back aboard the KO Motorsports No. 5n on Saturday night in Brownstown, IN at the ‘No Way Out 40’, Paul Nienhiser would have a very strong showing that culminated with a third-place finish.

“It was my first time at Brownstown Speedway, and I was happy to get back in the KO Motorsports entry,” Nienhiser said. “It wasn’t a USAC show technically, but it was basically our USAC field minus a few guys and a great way to see how we measured up.”

Lining up third in his heat race aboard the CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil/Roadworks/Peterbilt backed No. 5n machine, Nienhiser would find himself in a spirited battle with Brady Bacon in heat race action. Able to get the win, Nienhiser would find himself in the second row to start the 40-lap feature event.

With the waving of the green flag, the Chapin, IL driver was able to jump into the second position before the red flag flew on the race’s third lap.

The restart would see Nienhiser power around Kevin Thomas Jr to take command of the race as he looked very strong out front as he dodged the holes and worked around the slicked off surface.

On the 24th lap, Nienhiser would see Brady Bacon get by him to take over the race lead. As he continue to hang strong, Nienhiser would lose another spot and fall back to third.

Able to keep his machine on the podium, Nienhiser capped the 40-lap feature event with a very strong third place finish.

“It was probably lack of experience in a longer non-wing race but I smoked my tires and we just kind of held on the late half of the race,” Nienhiser explained. “Still, finishing third in that field was a huge confidence builder for me, and with my teammate Chase Stockon running fourth, our team is very optimistic about the season ahead as we really get going. I can’t thank the whole group at KO Motorsports enough for their hard work and giving me a really nice piece to race.”

Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil, Roadworks, Peterbilt, Mason Sound, Innovative Design, Bradshaw Custom Pumping, Wessler Bros. Agency, Bob Hawks Auto Body, Fierce Herbicide, Sunstoppers Window Tinting, Engler Machine and Tool, FK Indy, Rider Racing Engines, Kaeding Performance, Smith Titanium Products, Vortex Wings, Signature Signs and Design, and Team Simpson for their continued support.

2021 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-3, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-1

ON TAP: Nienhiser is hoping to run his PNR No. 9x with the World of Outlaws on Friday night before heading to Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday to resume the USAC season with KO Motorsports.
