PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his first start at the Silver Dollar Speedway since picking up his first career win at the same venue just a few weeks ago, Matt Peterson had a weekend he would soon like to forget after an accident on Friday night during the B Main ultimately ended his entire weekend.

“It was just a tough weekend, and I really don’t know what else to say,” Peterson said.

Friday night saw a very wet and fast race track greet the 48 teams that were in attendance, and Peterson started his night off by timing in 26th fastest, putting his V&H Fresh/Miller Lite/Inventory Sales backed entry behind the heat race inversion.

Starting sixth in his heat race, Peterson was able to get up to the fifth spot where he chased after Koen Shaw for the fourth and final transfer spot, but was unable to get by, and was forced to go to the night’s B Main event.

Lining up eighth in the B, Peterson worked his way up to the fifth spot, as he chased after Justyn Cox for fourth, and felt pressure from Jason Statler who was charging from the rear.

Hooking up in a very exiting and intense battle with Cox, Peterson tried to go both and high and low to take the fourth spot, but was unable to, as the duo continued to excite the crowd.

With the laps clicking away, Peterson went low exiting turn two as he looked to have a run on Cox, but as they raced down the back stretch, the duo made contact, resulting in damage on both entries, and ultimately ending Peterson’s weekend.

“It was a tough way to end our weekend,” Peterson said. “We were racing hard for position, and it is a huge bummer that there was contact. I thought I had him cleared, and I did not. It was definitely not intentional, and I apologize to their team for my mistake. The damage ended up ending our weekend, which was also a bummer. I have to thank my parents, Lee Lindgren, and everyone who continues to support us.”

Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: Peterson and his team are not sure at the moment where they will next be in action as they are busy fixing and replacing parts and pieces from this past weekend.
