PETERSEN MEDIA- Enduring a tough night at the track just one week ago, Matt Peterson returned to action on Saturday night and put together a nice night that saw him finish in the eighth spot at the Placerville Speedway.
“It was a really fun night at the race track,” Matt Peterson said. “I was pitted some really good people, and me and my dad let me call the shots on the car all night so to run well with my decisions was really gratifying.”
Opening his Saturday night up by timing the Miller Lite/V&H Fresh/Inventory Sales Company No. p37 machine in eighth quickest during the qualifying session on the racy ¼ mile bullring.
Finishing fourth in his heat race, the Wilton, CA would grid the field from the fifth row for the 25-lap affair. As the race came to life, Peterson would battle with the likes of Mike Benson and Kirt Organ as they jockeyed for position on the tight confines of the Placerville Speedway.
Holding his own inside the Top-10, Peterson would move into the eighth spot as he continue to chase after Organ. Spending much of the race battling with Organ, Peterson would hang onto the Top-10 as he took the checkered flag in the eighth spot.
“It was a solid night for us, but we always want to be further forward and battling for podium finishes and win,” Peterson said. “I do have to admit though, it has been so much fun getting to the track the last few weeks with family and friends. The good vibe helps me out for sure and hopefully starts to translates into even better results and the season moves forward.”
