PETERSEN MEDIA- Kicking his season off back in March at the Stockton Dirt Track, Matt Peterson and his team were off to a great start until they were devastated with a big time engine failure that kept them on the sidelines for nearly two months. With the help of some great partners, the team was able get back on the track this past Saturday night as the Wilton, CA driver picked up a fourth place finish at the Placerville Speedway.
“It was really awesome to get back in a racecar,” Matt Peterson said. “We opened our season up at Stockton and had some good speed before we ran into some really bad luck, but we are fortunate to have some generous partners who helped us get back on the track a little earlier than we anticipated.”
Taking to the high-banked Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Peterson timed his Miller Lite/V&H Fresh/Inventory Sales Company backed No. p37 machine in third fastest during qualifying time trials.
On a narrow surface during heat race action, Peterson would finish in the fourth spot, which made him redraw eligible and the eight pill would line him up in the fourth row of the 25-lap feature event.
Peterson showed no signs of rust on this night as he used the thick Placerville Speedway cushion to his advantage as he carved his was through some stout competition.
Getting up into the second spot late in the race, Peterson would start battling a vibration as he right-rear wheel became full of Placerville Speedway clay from pounding the cushion.
Doing what he could to hang on, Peterson would battle Tyler and Logan Seavey late in the race as the trio battled for positions second through fourth. When the checkered flag flew on the event, Peterson came home in the fourth spot.
“We had an awesome car tonight and I felt really comfortable in this Maxim Chassis,” Peterson said. “There are some truly great people around this team that make it really fun, and I can’t thank them enough for everything. After the bad luck we had in March, we are certainly looking for more people to come on board and join a great team of partners we have.”
With the season still very young, Peterson and his team are currently seeking additional marketing partners for the 2016 season.
Matt and his team would like to thank, Miller Lite, V&H Fresh, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Transportation Services, Future Energy Savers, Hoskins Mechanical Resources, Vahlco Wheels, JhdDesings, Shell Shock, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2016.
