Peterson Runs 10th at Silver Dollar Fair Race

PETERSEN MEDIA- After pulling off of the racing surface during Saturday nights feature event with what he thought was an engine issue, a relieved Matt Peterson picked up a 10th place finish on Sunday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway with the Civil War Series.

“Saturday night my heart sank for my entire team, and our marketing partners,” Matt Peterson said. “Doing some research after the race it was determined all was fine, and we were able to continue on with our weekend.”

Checking in at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Sunday night along with 50 other Civil War Series sprint cars, Matt Peterson would time his Miller Lite/V&H Fresh/Inventory Sales Group No. p37 machine in 10th fastest in his qualifying flight.

On an extremely slicked off racing surface in his heat race, Peterson would make a late race move that would put him in the fourth spot and secure him a position in the night’s 30-lap feature event.

Continuing to fine tune his Bear Trucking/Transportation Services/Future Energy Savers machine, Peterson would line up in the 15th spot for the 30-lap ‘A’ Main event. On a track that continued to slick off after track prep in the middle of the program, Peterson was able to hang tough and move forward during the first half of the race.

With rubber starting to go down on the speedway, passing would come to a halt as much of the last half of the race was spent in single file formation. Able to get only minor damage during a big pile up, Peterson would rebound in the closing laps and finish in the 10th spot.

“It wasn’t the weekend we had hoped for and we were pretty quiet, but it was nice to get a 10th place finish and make the show both nights with two pretty good sized car counts,” Peterson said. “This year has been a total team effort, and I am continuing to have fun at the track with my racing family.”

Matt and his team would like to thank, Miller Lite, V&H Fresh, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Transportation Services, Future Energy Savers, Hoskins Mechanical Resources, Vahlco Wheels, JhdDesings, Shell Shock, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2016.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS- Races-6, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-3

ON TAP: Matt will return to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.
