PETERSEN MEDIA- Opting to travel to the Marysville Raceway on Saturday night to tune up for this Friday night’s Civil War Series opener, Matt Peterson worked his way forward to a seventh place finish.
“We had a pretty good car, but the track was really fast, and passing was tough,” Peterson said.
Timing his V&H Fresh/Miller Lite/Inventory Sales Company backed No. p37 entry in 11th fastest, Peterson would finish second in his heat race, and miss out on the top-eight redraw.
“I just couldn’t take care of business in my heat race, and that really hurt us later in the night,” Peterson said.
Lining up for the feature event in the sixth row, Peterson got off to a great start as he quickly jumped inside the Top-10 as he raced his way to the seventh spot. Once in seventh, Peterson tried everything he could to keep moving forward, but could not find any racing real estate to do so.
“We had a ton of speed, there just was not much room to take any thing happen,” he added.
Opting to not force the issue with the Civil War race coming up on Friday night, the Wilton, CA driver would settle for a seventh place finish at the stripe.
“We were faster than a seventh place car, but it was a little narrow, and passing was tough,” Peterson said. “It wasn’t worth it to me to try anything stupid and tear someone else up or tear myself up, so we finished seventh. I really have to thank everyone that continues to support this team, and help us out.”
Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, Vahlco Wheels, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2015.
