Peterson Third at Rough and Tumble Marysville Raceway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Matt Peterson returned to the seat of his Peterson Racing No. p37 machine on Saturday night after week off and picked up a third place finish on a very rough and tumble racing surface at the Marysville Raceway.

“It was a tricky surface, but Brian Cannon and my guys really worked hard to give me a strong racecar all night,” Matt Peterson said.

With 24 winged 360’s checked into the Marysville Raceway on Saturday night, Peterson opened his night up by timing the V&H Fresh/Miller Lite/Inventory Sales backed No. p37 machine in fifth fastest.

Picking up a fifth place finish in his heat race, Peterson would earn a spot in the Top-8 redraw where the seven pill would see him take the green flag out of the fourth row for the 25-lap feature event.

Patiently working his way around a very tricky Marysville Raceway, Peterson was into the Top-Five in just a few laps as he had his sights set on Jeremy Burt and Kenny Allen who raced in front of him.

A restart with just six markers to go saw Peterson make a big move to jump into the third spot as he would go after the lead duo of Justin Sanders and Justyn Cox. As the leaders go into traffic on the 22nd lap, Peterson would look to take advantage of any opening he could find as traffic was tough on this night.

Unable to get to Sanders and Cox, Peterson would close his night out with a very strong third place effort.

“It was a really good night for us, and it felt good to run up front and get a good finish,” Peterson said. “We have had some really tough luck during much of the season, so hopefully we can build off of this finish and have a nice summer run.”

Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, Vahlco Wheels, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2015.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS- Races-15, Wins-0, Top 5’s-4, Top 10’s-8

ON TAP: Peterson will be at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.
