(Aptos, CA)- As plans continue to come together for the 2017 season, Prentice Motorsports Group has named PJ Petersen the Public Relations Director for the King of the West Series.

“We have had PJ under the PMG banner with the Civil War Series since 2014, and are excited to move forward with him performing the same duties with KWS in the season ahead,” PMG President, John Prentice said. “Gary Thomas did an outstanding job for us, and we wish him well in his future endeavors, but we are happy to move forward with PJ.”

Handling PR for several teams across the country under his Petersen Media brand as well as for the Civil War Series the last few years, Petersen’s role with PMG will expand to handling the PR needs for both series in 2017 including social media management, press releases, and multimedia.

“It has been a fun ride with the Civil War Series for the last three seasons, and I am really looking forward to working with drivers and tracks in both series this year,” Petersen said. “I grew up going to Golden State Challenge and King of the West races, so to now work with the series is pretty special.”

While Petersen will handle King of the West and Civil War PR, a slight change fans will notice is that each track’s announcer will be on the mic at each event in 2017.

Another change that PMG has made in 2017 that was announced earlier in December is naming Laurel Belton the organization’s Treasurer and Secretary. Belton’s duties will include handling membership and driver info, taking care of payout, as well as taking questions as they arise either at the track or during the week.

As the 2016 calendar year quickly comes to a close, PMG is working diligently to finalize schedules and hopefully get them released by the first of 2017.
