PETERSEN MEDIA- A three-race weekend came to a close on Sunday night with Tim Kaeding and his Lunstra Motorsports team picking up a third place finish with the National Sprint League and the Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI.
“With my Birthday being Monday, I would have loved to grab the win on Sunday night, but I am happy with a podium,” Tim Kaeding said. “We had a long weekend of racing, and my guys are flat worn out, and I thank them for all they do for me.”
Checking in at the Angell Park Speedway on Sunday night, TK would time the Dammer Trucking/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Sioux Falls Ford No. 3 machine in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Advancing to third in his heat race from his fifth starting spot, Kaeding would find himself on the front row for the 30-lap feature event.
As things got underway, Kaeding would settle into the second spot as he chased after Brad Loyet who was setting a blistering pace early. Fending off Danny Lasoski’s advances early in the race, Kaeding would see Loyet’s lead be erased by way of a lap-five caution.
Continuing to run in the second spot, traffic would provide some exciting action until the caution again waived on the 13th lap and put traffic to the back of the pack. This restart would see Lasoski dive under TK, and the San Jose, CA driver would continue on in the third spot.
As the lead duo broke away in the closing laps, Kaeding would close out a long weekend of racing with a third place effort.
TK and his team were also in action on Friday and Saturday with the NSL, and would pick up finishes of eighth and 13th.
“We struggled a little on Friday and Saturday night, so it was really nice to have a strong night on Sunday and build up some momentum for the Jackson Nationals,” Kaeding added.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will be back at it this Friday and Saturday night at the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, MN for the Jackson Nationals before stopping in at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night.
