PETERSEN MEDIA- As the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series began their trip back towards the Midwest, Parker Price-Miller grabbed his best finish of the 2017 season with the series on Friday night by way of a ninth place finish at Cocopah Speedway.
“Friday night was a confidence booster for me,” Price-Miller said. “I have struggled at Cocopah Speedway in the past, and on ½ miles at times, so to get a Top-10 there was big for our race team.”
Timing his 360 Yield/Chalk Stix/Pioneer backed No. 2 sprinter in eighth fastest during qualifying time trials, Price-Miller would fight hard for a Dash berth during heat race action, but would come up just short as he finished third.
Moving directly into the feature event, the Kokomo, IN driver would line up eighth for the 30-lap feature event on an extremely slick racing surface. When the race came to life, Price-Miller would lose several spots on the start of the race, but would stay composed.
As rubber would start going down on the speedway early in the race, PPM would slowly work his way forward as he got back up to the 10th spot. Using a late restart, ‘The Law Firm’ would grab another spot as he closed his night out with a ninth place finish.
Traveling to Arizona Speedway on Saturday night with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’, Price-Miller would get behind the eight ball early in the night as he timed in 17th fastest in time trials.
Starting and finishing sixth in his heat race on the narrow racing surface, the reigning MOWA Series champion would line up 17th in the feature event. With a thick cushion built up around the speedway, Price-Miller would take a liking to the high-side, as he was really able to push his car to the limits at times.
With some back and forth action taking place, PPM would be careful not to get into the cushion to hard, and would end up finishing where he starts; in the 17th spot.
“Thought it was 17th, we still have to look at the positives and that is we turned some of the fastest laps of the race but we don’t have anything to really show for it,” He added. “In traveling with these guys for the last couple of months, I have learned you’re not going to come out of the gate and beat these guys. I have gotten down on myself at times, but I have really reflected on how much we have learned and how much better we have gotten and I have really turned it into a positive.”
Price-Miller and his team would like to thank 360 Yield, Pioneer, DuPont, FlyingAG, Agee Farms, Encirca, Chalk Stix, and PPM Titanium for their support in 2017.
ON TAP: Parker Price-Miller will be back in action with the World of Outlaws this weekend in Texas where they will take to the Gator Motorplex on Thursday night and the Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday and Saturday.
