PETERSEN MEDIA- With the winter season officially upon us, racing has been moved to indoor facilities, and on Saturday night, Parker Price-Miller shook his Chili Bowl Midget Nationals car down during The Battle At The Center in Du Quoin, IL.
“We had a ton of speed, and though our result wasn’t the greatest, we just got off to a bad start in the feature event, but speed wise things felt great,” Price-Miller said.
Lining up for his heat race in the third row, Price-Miller showed some early speed as he muscled his way to the front aboard his PPM Titanium Products/Indy Race Parts/Keizer Wheels entry to pick up the win before running second in his qualifier.
After qualifier and heat points were tabulated, Price-Miller would line his machine up in the third row of what was a star-studded feature event.
When the green flag dropped on the event, Price-Miller’s machine got extremely tight as he went into the first corner and the Kokomo, IN driver pushed up the track, and lost a ton of track position, and found himself back in the 19th spot in the blink of an eye.
Stuck in the back of the pack on the tight confines in Du Quoin, Price-Miller focused on hitting his marks and making strong laps as he used this event as a test and warm up for the January Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
Though he became lapped traffic, Price-Miller was able to hang with the lead pack cars, which gave him some confidence, and a little silver lining on the night in general.
“We got off to a horrible start in the feature, and went to the back, but in the end, we were able to hold our own with some tough cars,” he added. “It is kind of hard to judge speed based on getting lapped, but we had speed all night long, and then when the leaders got to us, it wasn’t like we were out to lunch. I have to thank everyone for all of their hard work getting this car together.”
Price-Miller and his team would like to thank PPM Titanium Products, Indy Race Parts, Keizer Wheels, CSI Shocks, Select Equipment, Wesmar Racing Engines, Esslinger, and Triple X Race Components for their continued support.
ON TAP: Price-Miller will now enjoy the holiday’s before heading to Tulsa, OK January 13th-17th for the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
