Price Picks Up Pair of Seventh Place Finishes at Yakima Dirt Track

PETERSEN MEDIA- After picking up a seventh place finish on the pavement a week ago, Robbie Price picked up two more seventh place finishes on the dirt this week as he was in action with the Sumer Thunder Sprint Series at the Yakima Raceway on Friday and Saturday night.

“We raced pretty good both nights, but on Saturday I was really pleased with how we performed,” Robbie Price said. “Yakima is tough on me usually and Saturday I finally put together a really good run I thought.”

Kicking the double-header weekend off on Friday night, Price would not time the Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply No. 21 machine in where he had hoped and had his work cut out for him.

Finishing fifth in his heat race, the Cobble Hill, BC pilot would line up in the eight row for the feature event. When the feature event came to life, Price would work his way forward and soon find himself inside the Top-10.

Continuing to work forward, Price would race his way up into the eighth spot late in the race before making one final move to get into the seventh spot when the checkered flag flew on the feature event.

Back in action on Saturday night for the Fall Brawl finale, Price would again get off to a slower start in time trials, but would race his way from sixth to third in his heat race only to lose the handle and go to the tail end of the field where he would wind up with a fifth place finish.

Lining up for this feature event in the seventh row, Price would show a strong hand as he worked his way forward in a hurry. Carving his way through the field on the Yakima Dirt Track, Price would soon find himself up in the Top-Five.

Working his way up to fourth late in the race, Price would try to make something happen in turns three and four, but it would not work out for him and it would result in him giving up some track position.

Continuing to try to make a different line work, Price would close his weekend out with a seventh place finish.

“Saturday night I kept trying to make something different work late in the race, but I couldn’t get it to stick, and it resulted in us losing a few spots,” Price added. “We were really good, and I have to thank everyone that helped us out. This week I will be in the Jim and Annette Van Lare car in Chico, CA and I am looking forward to working with them.”

Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2016 season.
