Price Pockets Win During Skagit Speedway Season Opener

IMG_4981

PETERSEN MEDIA- As the curtain raised on the 2017 season at Skagit Speedway, Robbie Price made sure the spotlight was on him as the Cobble Hill, BC driver parked his machine in victory lane to score his first win of the 2017 season.

“It was a pretty good night for our race team,” Robbie Price said. “We timed in quick time, and were able to get into second in the feature event before capitalizing on the leaders misfortune and racing to the win.”

Kicking his night off by timing the Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply backed No. 21p machine in fastest in qualifying, Price would pull the six pill for the inversion placing him in the third row for the feature event.

With a driver having mechanical issues prior to green, Price would end up taking the green flag from the second row. Moving into the second spot when the race came to life, Price began tracking down Jason Solwold who had opened up a sizeable lead in a short period of time.

As Price continued to noticeably cut into the race lead, Solwold would appear to slow as Price used a full ahead of steam to rocket around him and take over the point. Out front, Price flexed his muscle as he dominated the closing laps of the feature event.

Turning in some flawless laps, Price would cruise to pick up his first win of the season during the season opening event at Skagit Speedway.

“We had a really fast racecar, and I think it would have been pretty exciting to battle with Solwold if that team didn’t have their bad luck,” Price said. “It is great to get back into victory lane, and huge thanks to all of the people who help this race team out.”

Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, and Shark Racing Engines for their support during the 2017 season.
