PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in the Summer Thunder Sprint Series event at the Yakima Dirt Track over the weekend, Robbie Price had his elbows up as he charged forward during both nights of action picking up fifth and sixth place finishes.
“We didn’t qualify to well on either night, but we raced pretty well and were able to move forward in the feature event,” Robbie Price noted.
Lining up on the pole of his heat race, the Cobble Hill, BC driver slipped back to the second spot where he would go on to finish.
Lining up 10th in the feature event, Price would be a victim in an opening lap wreck as a pile up ensued in turn one and forced Price to the work area aboard his Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply backed No. 21 machine.
From the tail, the young driver was stout on the Yakima Dirt Track as he carved his way through traffic as he raced his way forward. Flexing his muscle, Price would rebound from the tail end of the field to finish in the fifth spot.
Returning to the track on Saturday night, Price would open his night up by timing in 12th fastest and again lining up on the front row of his heat race. On this night however, Price would take care of business and pick up the win which lined him up in the sixth row of the feature event.
Taking the green flag in the sixth row, Price did just as he did one night prior and that was move forward. Searching around the high-speed facility, Price was able to find grip all over make gains.
Getting into the sixth spot, Price would challenge for the fifth position in the closing laps but at the line he would close his weekend out with a sixth place effort.
“I was really pleased with our car speed all weekend long,” Price admitted. “it was a strong weekend for us, and I like the direction we are heading and hopefully we can run even better this weekend at the Cottage Grove Speedway.”
Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2016 season.
