PETERSEN MEDIA- Tim Kaeding will be the first one to tell you that time trials hampered his weekend at the Jackson Nationals. Admittedly struggling to time in all weekend, Kaeding would make the show on Saturday night where he would finish 15th.

“We raced really well all weekend long, but when you time in bad you really put yourself in a an early hole,” Kaeding said. “Unfortunately we timed in bad during both preliminary nights and were deep in points when Saturday rolled around.”

Thursday night kicked off the 39th Annual AGCO Jackson Nationals and Kaeding would time in 19th in his qualifying flight.

Lining up in the fifth row of his heat race, the San Jose, CA driver would turn in an electrifying performance in his heat that saw him carve his way up to the fourth spot at the finish, and lock him into the opening night feature event.

Find himself in the 14th starting spot for the 25-lap feature event, Kaeding would continue to show good speed in racing conditions as he put on a nice charge throught he field on tricky track conditions. Able to race inside the Top-10, TK would close the night out with an eighth place finish aboard the Folkes Bros. Trucking/East River Homes/Dammer Trucking backed No. 3.

Friday night again would see Kaeding struggle in time trials, as he would end up 16th fastest in his flight on this night.

Able to again make up ground in his heat race, Kaeding would advance from his eighth starting spot to finish in the fifth spot and move directly into the feature event.

Kaeding night would end up getting cut short though as engine issues would force him back to his trailer early.

Sitting 17th in Jackson Nationals points heading into Saturday night heat races, Kaeding would grid the field from the second row of his heat race and race to a third place finish and advance to the Jackson Nationals feature event.

On a fast racing surface that was offered up to the field for the 30-lap feature event, Kaeding would run the bottom groove in the early goings of the feature event before finally working to the cushion.

Admitting to staying on the bottom a few laps too long, Kaeding would take the Saturday night checkered flag in the 15th spot.

“Saturday night I just messed around on the bottom too long, and by the time I moved up everyone was running the cushion, and we finished where we started,” he added. “It wasn’t the greatest weekend, but it wasn’t all bad for our team.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Folkens Bros. Trucking, Dammer Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, East River Homes, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Tim and Lunstra Motorsports will again battle with the World of Outlaws on Friday and Saturday in Knoxville, IA before beading to Burlington, IA on Sunday night to take on the All Star Circuit of Champions.
