Reutzel Fourth with World of Outlaws at Granite City Speedway as Series Heads to Knoxville
PETERSEN MEDIA- With rain shortening the weekend of racing action for Aaron Reutzel and Roth Motorsports, the Clute, TX native would make the most of the Saturday night show at Granite City as he recorded a fourth-place finish and ended a streak of bad luck with the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt’.
“It felt good to be back up-front leading laps, but unfortunately we came up short,” Aaron Reutzel said. “That one restart shuffled us a bit, but it is good to get back in the Top-Five and we will look to keep it rolling as we head to Knoxville this weekend.”
Getting the night underway by timing the Roth Enterprises/Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co./HR Livestock Transportation backed mount in 10th fastest in time trials, Reutzel would have a strong showing in his heat race.
Working his way up to finish in the second position, Reutzel would make his way into the Dash where a second-place finish there put him on the front row of the feature event alongside Donny Schatz.
When the green flag flew on the feature, it was Schatz getting the jump, but Reutzel would get moving and lead the first lap officially. Out front, Reutzel would begin to pull away from the field as he looked very strong out front.
Reutzel’s lead would evaporate, however, as the race’s lone caution flag flew on the 14th lap.
Back underway, Reutzel would fall to second as David Gravel got by him and then to third as Sheldon Haudenschild nailed his restart and actually powered his way to the race lead.
Battling with Schatz for position, Reutzel would ultimately slip back to fourth where he would go on to finish.
“Big thanks to Dennis and Teresa Roth for continuing to support us even as we went through a tough patch the last couple of weeks,” Reutzel said. “We felt good at Knoxville a couple of weeks ago, and we are looking forward to a couple nights back there this weekend.”
The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co., HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, Southern Pacific Farms, All Star Performance, FK Rod Ends, Vahlco Wheels, Triple X Race Co., AL Drive Lines, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Wings Unlimited, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, Smith Titanium, and Team Simpson for their support in 2021.
