PETERSEN MEDIA- Battling with the King of the West Series over the weekend, Robbie Price would rebound from a tough go on Friday night to finish 15th on Saturday night during the 26th Annual Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial race.
“Friday night just did not go well at all,” Price said. “We struggled in time trials, and that carried over to the rest of the night. Saturday night went a lot better and hopefully it is something we can carry over to this weekend.”
After failing to get out of the B Main on Friday night despite a last lap Hail Mary attempt, Price would return to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night and get his night off to a much better start as he timed the Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply No. 21 machine in 15th quickest.
Finishing fourth in his heat race, the Cobble Hill, BC driver would grid the field from the 14th starting spot for the 40-lap feature event. A racy surface saw a great race unfold and eventually run with no stoppages.
From the back of the pack, Price was able to do some battling with Colby Copeland and Chase Johnson but would soon see the leaders put him a lap down over the duration of the race.
Hanging with the lead pack, Price was mindful to not hinder what was a great race as he followed the leaders and figured out their line rather than try to get his lap back.
In the end, Price would take the checkered flag with a 15th place finish.
“We had a really good car in the feature I thought,” Price said. “We could move around a little bit, but once we got lapped I was pleased that we could hang right with the lead pack. Rather than get racy with them, I did what I could to get in line and not mess up the race with the lead. From Friday to Saturday I was really pleased with the improvements we made.”
Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2016 season.
2016 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-15, Wins-0, Top-5’s-1, Top 10’s-5
