PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking a couple weeks off to regroup after racing in Las Vegas, NV, Robbie Price raced at Yakima Dirt Track over the last weekend where he charged to a seventh place finish on Friday night before an early incident knocked him out of Saturday night’s feature.
“I continue to struggle to qualify, but race well,” Price said. “Friday night we were able to charge through the field pretty well, and on Friday night we had an unfortunate incident end our night.”
Kicking the doubleheader weekend off on Friday night, Price would bounce back from a poor time trial effort to finish fifth in his heat race aboard the Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply backed No. 21 sprinter.
Moving into the feature event, the Cobble Hill, BC driver would grid the field from the 19th starting spot. On a racy surface, Price showed some serious speed on the big ½ mile as he worked his way forward lap after lap.
Getting as high as sixth late in the race, Price would bobble on a restart with four laps to go resulting in a seventh place finish.
Back in action on Saturday night, Price would get off to a much better start as he was able to time his Shark Racing Engines powered machine in ninth fastest before recording a second place finish in his heat race.
Transferring into the feature event, things would not go Price’s way as he would get cleaned out pretty good in the opening laps, and his night would come to an end.
“After running Las Vegas, NV you want to get back at it and redeem yourself, but we had to wait a while,” Price said. “It was good to get back to it, and hopefully can start to get into a rhythm.”
Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, and Shark Racing Engines for their support during the 2017 season.
