Robbie Price Finishes 9th During First Visit to Silver Dollar Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA-Making the trip to Chico, CA from Cobble Hill, British Columbia, 16-year-old driver, Robbie Price, made his debut at the Silver Dollar Speedway during the Silver Cup, and overall put together a nice weekend.

“It was a huge learning curve for me, but overall I was happy with how things went,” Price said.

Making his debut on Friday night during the Silver Cup, Price timed his Raylle Auto Sales/Millstone Heating and Sheet Metla/Tiger Towing No. 21P machine in 11th fastest.

In a wild heat race, Price slid of the track, and was able to finish in the fourth spot, and transfer directly into the night’s feature event.

Lining up 12th in the Friday night feature event, Price continued to adjust to the ¼ mile track, and conditions were tough to adapt to. Getting involved in an early yellow, Price and company would make repairs to the machine, and salvage the night with a 15th place finish.

Saturday night saw Price continue acclimate as he timed in 16th fastest, just making the heat race inversion. Lining up on the front row of his heat, Price would finish in the third spot after battling for second, and again transfer directly to the feature event.

Rolling off in 15th for the 30-lap feature event, Price would deal with one of the roughest tracks he has admittedly seen in his young racing career. Tip-toeing around the speedway, Price was able to move forward, as he climbed towards the Top-10.

Getting into 10th, Price was able to sneak into the ninth spot as the checkered flag flew on his first weekend in Chico, CA.

“I have never been on a track that small, nor one that rough, so it took a little while to get used to,” he added. “I have to thank everyone who helped us out all weekend, and I am looking forward to getting back to California and racing soon.”

Price and his team would like to thank Raylle Auto Sales, Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Northwest School of Martial Arts, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2015 season.
