PETERSEN MEDIA- Overcoming an opening lap tangle, Robbie Price would work his way from the back of the pack Saturday night at Skagit Speedway and record a 10th place finish.

“We didn’t time in well and were slated to start in the eighth row originally,” Price said. “We got caught up in an opening lap wreck and went to the work area and wound up starting at the tail and racing our way forward.”

Timing the Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Wheeler Paint Works/Rod End Supply No. 21 machine in 16th fastest in time trials, Price would go on to finish fifth during heat race competition.

Lining up on the pole of the night’s ‘B’ Main, Price would have his elbows up as he would motor out to the lead and race his way to the victory and transfer into the feature event.

Slated to grid the field from the eighth row for the feature event, Price would find himself amidst an opening lap tangle, which would result in nose wing damage for the Cobble Hill, BC driver.

Taking his machine to the work area, Price’s team would make the repair and he would make the call to restart the feature from the back of the pack. Price had no issues with moving forward as he was able to slice and dice his way through the field on the racy Skagit Speedway surface.

Using a couple of timely cautions to his advantage, Price would find himself in the Top-10 as the race drew to a close. Running through traffic, contact in the final laps would slow Price’s pace as he looked to pick up more positions and ended up taking the checkered flag in the 10th spot.

“We had a good car, and got moving at the end of the feature,” Price said. “Our pace got slowed with a few laps to go and I think it may have cost us another position or two. Thanks to everyone who helped get us back on track after that opening lap incident.”

Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Wheeler Paint Works, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, and Shark Racing Engines for their support during the 2017 season.
