PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending his weekend at the Skagit Speedway, Robbie Price would pick up an eighth place finish during a wild 360ci race on Thursday night before he made his debut with the World of Outlaws on Saturday.
“Thursday night was pure chaos,” Price said. “We just happened to avoid the big wreck on lap one, so when we got tangled a few laps later it wasn’t such a big hole to climb out of.”
Timing in 16th fastest on Thursday night, Robbie Price would pick up the heat race win aboard his Raylle Auto Sales/Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing No. 21 machine.
Lining up in the eighth row of the feature event, Price would avoid a 14 car pile up the took it’s toll on the field on the opening lap. Once the carnage was cleaned up, Price would go to work for the race lead.
On the 9th lap, Price would get into trouble of his own and be forced to go to the work area for repairs. Unable to get back out before the green, Price would restart after the next stoppage, though he would be three-laps down.
Able to race his way past the field, Price would get one of his laps back, and would end up finishing in the eighth spot.
Friday’s scheduled World of Outlaws race would fall victim to rain, so Saturday night would mark Price’s first ever start with the “Greatest Show on Dirt”.
Timing in 16th fastest, Price would miss the heat race inversion as a three-heat program was in play on this night. Finishing eighth in his heat, the Cobble Hill, BC driver would finish second in the Last Chance Showdown behind Kraig Kinser, and would earn a spot in the feature event.
Having brake issues during the warm up laps, Price would hang around the back of the pack hoping to not tear any equipment up as he finished in the 18th spot.
“I noticed my brakes were soft during the parade laps, so I told myself to just play it safe,” Price said. “We were able to stay out of harms way and make all 35-laps.”
Price and his team would like to thank Raylle Auto Sales, Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Northwest School of Martial Arts, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2015 season.
2015 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-38, Wins-3, Top-5’s-10, Top 10’s-25
