PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing aboard the potent BDS Motorsports No. 1 to take on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, SD over the weekend, Robbie Price would fare well as he earned two Top-10 finishes.
“I really have to thank the BDS Motorsports team for taking a chance with me and letting me run their car against the ASCS National Tour,” Price said. “I think we had a pretty good weekend and hopefully get another shot to work with them.”
Friday night, Price would line the BDS No. 1 entry up in the fourth row of his heat race. With passing points deciding the feature event line up, the Cobble Hill, BC driver would need to go forward to earn a spot in the ‘A’.
Picking up a few positions in the heat, Price would finish in the fifth spot, which meant worked out to him lining up ninth in the feature event. On the slick surface, the track would soon begin to take rubber as the race moved on.
Running the bottom groove, Price would find the rubber before the drivers in front of him and he would work his way up to the seventh spot. Continuing to gain on the cars ahead of him, the yellow flag would fly and slow his progress and allow the other drivers to seek out the grip as he would settle for a seventh place finish.
Price and the BDS Motorsports team would return to action on Saturday night where he would start and finish 3rd in the heat race. Lining up 13th in the feature event Price would again move forward in the feature event as he would get up to the ninth spot. Looking for more, Price would make a mistake passing for eighth in the closing laps and he would spin the car out.
Able to rebound from his mistake, Price would race his way back up to finish 10th.
“Saturday night we were much better than a 10th place car, but I made a mistake late in the race,” Price added. “It was a fun weekend, and like I said, hopefully we can do it again.”
Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Wheeler Paint Works, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, Square Space, and Shark Racing Engines for their support during the 2017 season.
