PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to racing action in Indiana after an extended trip on the East Coast, Robert Ballou would spend his Sunday at Kokomo Speedway where he would pick up a third place finish.

“We were a little tight in the feature event on Sunday, but fortunately we were still able to get on the podium,” Robert Ballou said. “Were still chasing things a little, but we are starting to get consistent.”

Timing the Dickinson Farms/Lucas Oil Products/Abreu Vineyards sprinter in second fastest in his time trial group, Ballou would race his way to a second place finish in his heat race and transfer directly to the Darland Memorial feature event.

Lining up in the second row for the 30-lap feature event, Ballou would go to work on ‘Indiana’s Baddest Bullring’ but would fight a tight racecar in the early stages of the feature event.

Forced to manhandle his mount, the Rocklin, CA native turned Indiana resident would have his hands full as he battled with the likes of Kevin Thomas, Jr, Dave Darland, and Shane Cottle as the standouts all fought for position inside the Top-Five.

Trying to change his lines to acclimate his car, Ballou would continue to work hard to hold his position, as he was able to stay in position to land on the podium. When the checkered flag flew over the Bob Darland Memorial, Ballou was able to hang on to an extremely hard fought third place finish.

“It got tough at times, and was a handful there in the feature,’ the former USAC National Sprint Car Series Champion said. “We will work a little more on our program this week and see if we cant find a mesh point that makes me happy. Thanks to all of the people on the side of our car that let us go out and put on a show.”

Robert Ballou would like to thank Dickinson Farms, Lucas Oil Products, Abreu Vineyards, Deaton’s Waterfront Service, Rossie Feed and Grain, Unique Breedz, Suburban Subaru, Jamie Davidson Scrap Metal, Twister-X, Hinchman Indy, Don Ott Racing Engines, Manvel Motorsports, Blakesley Auto, Olson Custom Design, Konnected Clothing, Hooker Harness, Indy Race Parts, Hoosier Tire, Schoenfeld Headers, ISC Racers Tape, Chalk Racing Products, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Saldana Racing Products, and Bell Helmets for their support.

ON TAP: Ballou is scheduled to invade Lincoln Park Speedway on July 6th with the USAC National Sprint Car Series.
