PETERSEN MEDIA: As the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series heads West, Robert Ballou Motorsports and Dave Darland have teamed up and ‘The People’s Champ’ will pilot the Ballou Motorsports entry at this weekend’s Western World Championship’s at Arizona Speedway and the season ending Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway November 8th, 9th, and 10th.”
“I absolutely love Sprint Car racing, and Dave Darland is a legend in our sport so I am really excited to have him in my car as we head out West,” Robert Ballou said. “Western World’s and the Oval Nationals are two great events and I look forward to helping Dave add to his all time USAC National Sprint Car wins total.”
Over the course of his storied career, Darland has been able to win the famed Oval Nationals on three separate occasions, as well as sitting atop the All Time USAC National Sprint Car Series Career wins list with 60 wins to his credit. The 2017 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee is also a three-time Indiana Sprint Week Titleist, leads the series in all time wins during ISW, and picked up 100 career wins in his father’s storied No. 36D entry.
Heading into the final two events of the season, crowd favorite, Dave Darland currently sits fifth in the season long point standings with two National wins to his credit.
“I am very thankful that Robert Ballou agreed to put this together and head West,’ Dave Darland said. “I also have to thank my son, Trenton, as well as Jimmy Jones for all of their help getting everything ready. We had a handful of supporters step up to make this possible and I appreciate them as well. I am very much looking forward to driving the 12 car.”
“Being from California, I always look forward to getting out West and catching up with some fans that I don’t get to see as much as I would like to,” Ballou noted. “This year will be a little different, but I am nothing but confident in what we can do with Dave in the seat.
